Are you a good candidate?

The best candidate for the EpiLight® System is one with coarse, dark hair and fair skin. Since the system attacks the pigment of the hair, blond and white hair take longer to remove and may require more than the average number of sessions.

The same goes for people with darker skin tones; darker skin contains more pigment which competes with the targeted hair for absorption of the light emitted by EpiLight® . The number of sessions needed to treat each area cane be anywhere between 3 and 10, and varies with each individual.

Possible Side Effects:

  1. Pain—When a shot is triggered, some patients experience various degrees of discomfort. Some describe the sensation as stinging, while others describe it as a rubber band snap. A burning sensation may last up to an hour after treatment.
  2. Damage to skin texture—A crust or blister may form, which may take up to two weeks to heal.
  3. Change of pigmentation—There may be a change in pigmentation in the treated area. This mainly occurs in people with darker skin tones or those that have been exposed to sunlight. This usually fades in 3 to 6 months.
  4. Scarring—There is a very small chance of scarring.
  5. Excessive Swelling—Immediately after treatment, the skin may temporarily swell, especially on the face, but should subside in three to seven days.
